Danessy | 2021

In February 2020, while Danessy was returning home from church, she was hit by a car in her community in Santa Bárbara.

Kind-hearted people took her to a hospital where she received the initial medical care she needed. As a result of the accident, she experienced respiratory problems and was intubated for four days, as well as suffering an injury to one of her legs.

“The first thing I asked the Lord for was that my daughter would return to the perfect condition she was in when she was born, that every doctor who cared for my daughter would be an angel sent by God, and that she would never lack any medication… She has had everything and more, now that we are here at the Foundation.” — Maribel Hernández, Danessy’s mother.

Danessy has been treated by an orthopedic specialist and a pediatric neurologist. One year after the accident, a plate was removed from her leg so that she could continue with her rehabilitation.
